A Note From Ana

I remember spending every single summer trying to find the right camps for my kids.

They were creative. Curious. Imaginative.
And honestly… sports camps were not their thing.

I searched everywhere — art camps, dance camps, musical theatre, baseball — anything where they could use their creative minds instead of just running drills in the sun.

What I really wished for was a photography camp.

I would have enrolled them all in a heartbeat.

But there wasn’t one.

So I became the camp.

I was the “camp mom.” I taught them myself. At a very young age, I showed them how to use their cameras, how to see light, how to experiment, how to create.

It was one of the best things I ever did for them.

Photography gave them confidence.
It gave them focus.
It gave them a way to express themselves.

Kids Photo Camp was born from that season of my life — from being a mom who wanted something different for her creative kids.

And now, I get to create the camp I always wished existed.

Where Creativity Grows

Kids Photo Camp was created to give children something most programs don’t — real creative skills, real confidence, and real hands-on experience.

This isn’t just a camp where kids click a button.

It’s a place where they learn how to see.

They learn how light works.
How to control their camera.
How to create images with intention.
How to take an idea and turn it into something real.

And most importantly — they learn they are capable.

Meet Ana

Ana Brandt is an internationally recognized photographer and educator who has spent decades teaching both adults and children how to master lighting, storytelling, and creativity.

After years of teaching photographers around the world, Ana realized something powerful:

Children are fearless creators.

When given the right tools and guidance, they don’t overthink. They experiment. They try. They grow quickly.

Kids Photo Camp was built to nurture that creative instinct early.

Ana develops the curriculum and personally teaches throughout camp, guiding students through studio lighting, outdoor photography, and creative projects that build both skill and confidence.

Meet Alex

Ana and Alex have been working side by side for over 14 years.

Alex is the technical mind behind the scenes — the video guru, equipment expert, and creative builder who helps bring projects to life.

From running our in-house DTF printer for custom camp shirts and water bottles to helping students understand the technical side of photography, Alex ensures every camper has the tools and support they need.

Together, they are passionate about empowering the next generation of creators.

What Makes This Camp Different

We believe children deserve more than busy work.

At Kids Photo Camp, students:

• Learn to shoot in manual mode
• Work with studio lighting and natural light
• Photograph people, objects, and action
• Explore film and cyanotypes
• Create videos and short-form content
• Experiment with guided, age-appropriate AI creativity
• Complete a printed self-portrait project

We work in small groups so every child receives attention and encouragement.

This is a structured but fun environment where creativity is celebrated.

A Place Where Every Child Is Welcome

We welcome students ages 5–18.

Our average camper is around 9–10 years old, but we work with children and teens of all experience levels.

Children with special needs are absolutely welcome. Many kids on the spectrum thrive in this environment because photography provides both structure and creative freedom. On your registration form, you can share any sensitivities or challenges so we can best support your child.

Our goal is simple:

Every child leaves more confident than when they arrived.

More Than a Camp

Many of our campers don’t want the week to end.

They stay curious.
They stay engaged.
They create.

This is more than a summer activity.

It’s a foundation for creative thinking that lasts far beyond camp.
